The GB Boxing Awards Program is an ideal entry into the sport of boxing. This is non-contact and a great introduction to ABA Olympic style boxing. Whether you want to carry on training as a boxer afterwards for fitness and fun or you have dreams of representing your country, this is a great way to start! Over the course of 36 weeks you will learn the skills necessary to earn the Standard, Preliminary and Bronze awards.
On completion boxers can move on to an ABA Club to earn their Silver, Gold and Platinum Awards in which contact is introduced, or they can stay with TKC and continue into our own BMABA endorsed awards scheme. The TKC Evolution Boxing Program is currently under development and we will be announcing full details very soon. The program will pick up from where the ABA Bronze award program left off, introducing more effective footwork patterns, strength and conditioning training, tactical padwork, fighting strategies, chain drills, sparring (rehearsed and optionally freestyle) and developing your personal fighting style.
NOTE: To gain the official ABA endorsed certificates and medals there is a one off charge of £18 for medals, certificates and student handbook for the entire 30 weeks, which is good value but a lot of money to start off with! However if money is tight you can still join the program and you’ll receive thisKiDcan certificates instead – we don’t want anyone to be excluded on financial grounds!
